Johannes Geibel, netzwerk n e. V.
"We have freedom of science at the universities - but where there is freedom, the responsibility is all the greater."
Johannes Geibel was already actively involved in sustainable university design during his studies in Tübingen and Berlin. As a board member of the student initiative Greening the University in Tübingen, as a member of the Forum for Sustainable Development of the Tübingen-Hohenheim University Region and in establishing the network n to become the most important German actor for student sustainability initiatives at universities.
In 2015, Johannes was appointed to the National Platform Education for Sustainable Development (BNE) by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), where he served as co-chair of the Fachforum Hochschule from 2016 to mid-2018.
Since May 2018, Johannes Geibel has been working as a scientific advisor for Dr. Anna Christmann, member of the German Bundestag, dealing in particular with innovation and technology policy issues.
The mission of network n: Strengthening universities as places of transformation and rethinking and co-designing teaching, research, operations, governance and transfer in line with the guiding principle of sustainable development. We bring people of different status groups - especially the young generation - together, impart knowledge, communicate examples of success, set unconventional and creative impulses and motivate them to act together passionately for a university and science system that treats sustainability as a priority and sets impulses for a sustainable society.
